Pakistan. President Arif Al-Rahman Alvi accelerates alternative energy sources

Speaking at a ceremony in Karachi, President Arif Alvi underlined the need to exploit alternative energy sources to produce low-cost electricity in the country. He also highlighted that nuclear and hydropower are presented as among the cheapest sources of energy, but that wind and solar energy for electricity generation also need to be thoroughly explored.

The President said the National Assembly was converted to solar energy about five years ago and he was now looking forward to solarising the Presidency. President Arif Alvi also welcomed investment in alternative sources of energy.

President Arif Alvi said that inflation is rising across the world and Pakistan is not the only country in the world facing this challenge.

"Inflation is high because commodity and oil prices are rising in the international market. However, the government will take measures to control food inflation through supply chain mechanisms and good governance," furthermore, he said the country is on the right path and that his future is bright.
